Project #2!

Awakening Sky ART-2060-A-Media Arts(Digital Sketchbook) Helen Obrecht February 22, 2025 In this project I explored the beauty of natural lighting during sunrise. I wanted to highlight how ordinary moments in nature can look extraordinary when observed closely and with intention. This project is about attention to how beautiful the world truly is every single day without fail and the importance of noticing the world around us. To create this video I filmed the sunrise at 7:10 AM. Capturing footage of the changing lighting in the sky, clouds and the world around me. By capturing the sunrise in a cinematic way I aimed to evoke gratitude and show that even ordinary natural phenomena can be deeply engaging when noticed. Through this work I hope viewers experience appreciation for the light that surrounds us every day. Project #2 link!

Sunset time lapse

I love this video created by Victor Bohush. It's interesting how something like the sky that is taken for granted can be turned into an engaging video. It serves as a reminder that whats around us is beautiful. When the light travels through more of Earth’s atmosphere it scatters shorter blue wavelengths and letting warm tones that can't be seen through most of the day be seen, this phenomenon is also known as  Rayleigh scattering. I found this video engaging because it captures something that only a few people got to witness and the exact video created can not be captured again. I am excited to explore these ideas in my upcoming project! Link to video: sunrise video
